We have 3 plugins states: active, inactive, uninstalled.
So we need 3 colours.... but each colour must have an "equal" colour a little bit different to differenciate each line (if there are 2 plugins or more consecutives with same state).
If you want to understand, try Plugins Manager with PWG 1.7.x. Install some plugins, activate some ones, and sort by status...
Then, it is worth : you will have big part of the page with alternate lines of light red and dark red, without any grey or dark to cool it down => it's too heavy.

I know... so we keep it without colored lines ;-)

May I have a reminder on the difference between "install" and "activate" a plugin? (and also between "remove" and "deactivate")

- Deactivate: Plugin has been stopped, it can be restarted.
- Uninstall: All configuration parameters are deleted, you can expect to re-install like a first install.
- Delete: The directory is removed for the file server.

Install run maintain.php (Create table, create intial values in config,...)
Activate is just making main.inc.php active.
It is based on Wordpress plugin logic.
And it could be useful in problem determination to deactivate some plugins.

thank you stripy, so if I summarize : uninstall+install = restore defaults. This is useful only because it has been decided that deactivation was keeping the current configuration. I think that the difference is very thin and I'm not sure we really need such a difference. But anyway, it's not the today discussion (even so it would reduce the number of plugin status)

Activate is just making main.inc.php active.
Activate also include maintain.inc.php, and run plugin_activate function
PS: I think we need to keep this two "steps".
Lot's of plugins save data in database. All data are erased when uninstalling.
