I would like to know this as well because the readme file included, i thought was very brief and i wasn't quite sure what i was doing.  I followed the instructions exactly but everything went horribly wrong as you can see in my other thread.  If a developer could post the exact process for us "newbs" then that would be great.  I don't want to go through the same thing in the next upgrade as i went through upgrading to 1.7.
