Hello,
Yes ! We want to do it. Specially for English speakers. In fact, our forum is very intensive in French, a lot of ideas and solutions are discussed.
We understand perfectly that you need to have somewhere a feedback and a synthesys of best practices. We have to share this information with you.
So why we don't have a FAQ somewhere (in Wiki pages, Wiki authorize you to correct our grammar mistakes)?
We are going to do it.
Before, we need your help for the concept.
Which domains we must address first?
- Installation / Customization / Plugins / MOD / Backup / Migration / Organisation / Required Versions /...
How?
- Q&R?
- Menu-Link / What is it for? / What are pb? / What should I do?
And so on.
What do you expect? What do you prefere to get?
Right, you have the best ideas for many reasons.
Please, if somebody writes a question in this topic, make you sure that isn't an example.
Let us knowing your ideas, remarks, and comments about FAQ in general and in particular for PWG.
Thanks a lot from the whole phpWebGallery Team.

I think an FAQ is an excellent idea.
Why not just extend the Wiki?
I'd be delighted to help with your english grammar, and have in the past already made a few minor adjustments.
Je ne suis pas trop fort en Fr mais vasi stv....
Personally, I think that Instalation, Customization and Organisation should be the first topics documented.
Do you need a completely new FAQ or do you think more extensive Wiki documentation would suffice?

Donkikong,
All the Dev team and myself are very pleased with your proposal.
If you can help us even if it's only with grammar, it's perfect.
As I can see, you are used to read and understand French.
Right now, I have on my roadmap another task but in parallel I do some work on
Fr FAQ
if you want to create or to exercice yourself on the English FAQ exercise, you're absolutly welcome.
We want to do 10-12 Wiki pages mainly based on the subjects you referred but also on recurrent questions in forum.
If you want to create or correct it when pages would be available, please do.
Thx a lot for all.
UK/US FAQ (At this time: a blank one).
And ... It seems your first post for 2006 so Happy New Year !!!
Vincent.

Happy New year to you too :)
I'd be delighted to help - I'll try and do a little each day!
Is there any mechanism by which I can be notified of changes to parts of the french version that have already been translated?
Offline
Hi,
Not exactly, Wiki couldn't tell you what is already translated or what is not, the reason is Wiki itself doesn't understand any of those languages.
8-)
But, you can have list of changes from time to time on fr:faq by this link
fr:faq / revisions
On each line you have glasses (blue glasse (=previous version) and red glasse (=compared version), just try.
I will try to group changes as I can and to add a description about the change each time.
Use preview as much you can and save from time to time.
To understand Wiki Tags, I give you two other links
Wiki English syntax
and to exercise yourself
Wiki Playground
That would help you.
I created the English FAQ page.
Thx.
Vincent

Right n'Flase.
In address bar, you're right.
In DukuWiki page, you're false (and that's what I was speaking).
Neithertheless, RSS give you last modified pages in the fine order recent first, the link, date, begining of the text and so, fine but as I said not specific changes this is for revision list of course.
IE sux ? Personnal and usual access FF for controls and PWG Forum, Family access with IE, checking a new dev on FF,IE, Opera, Netscape (not Konqueror).
Is it fine for u?

I meant that we don't need special RSS icon cause a good browser is able to show it ;)

I saw that. Thanks. I will continue as soon I can.
I made some changes to your UK/US FAQ, I let you see those.
Donkikong, may I suggest you to register yourself in the Wiki then we can see your updates and...
As I did give a title to your main updates.
Thanks a lot.
