That was it, I hadn't added any properties in the plugin under "Manage photo properties" - Settings
I think it is working now so I will test it this week.
It looks perfect for my needs.

Can I ask what "The reference photo for exif and IPTC :" means and how do I choose one?
At the moment it says "reference photo ID doesn't exist, please update"

I don't know what goes in the field "The reference photo for exif and IPTC :", it is looking for an integer, but an integer of what?
Do I need to upload a reference photo, and if so, where to?

If only if you want use exif or iptc
for plugin can read metadata your photo must be have metadata ...

Testing is going very well ddtddt
But I need the search function on the home page to include the extra properties from the "Manage Properties Photos". Can this be done or shall I post a feature request?

Thanks ddtddt, I have added a request, maybe someone with SQL skills will write a new plugin if they see my request. I'm afraid it is beyond my skills to write it myself.

With Piwigo 13.8 isn't easy to add new item in search
search change with Piwigo 14
