Hello/Hi/Greetings,

I am now also turning to the English-language Piwigo forum, as I have not received any really useful help in the German-language forum:
My wife uses an iPad mini 2, model number ME824FD/A. iOS version: 12.5.7. Until now, the Piwigo app for iOS (version 3.1.3) has worked. Recently she can no longer start the app. It can be called up briefly, but then crashes (closes immediately without being able to enter anything). The Piwigo software is running on the server of my webhoster all-inkl.com.
On my own iPad Pro (software version of iOS: 16.7.5, model number: MLMP2FD/A) the Piwigo app works without any problems. The same applies to my iPhone 8 (iOS version 16.7.5). The Pwigo app works here, too.
Can anyone give me a hint as to what the problem is? Any help appreciated!

You know IOS is version 17 now?

You know that iPad mini 2 doesn't run iOS 17 and its maximum supported version is iOS 12, right?
Same for iPhone 8 and iPad Pro 9.7" (which MLMP2FD/A is), max iOS is 16, right?

The answer from John R doesn't really help me. Up to which iOS version does the Piwigo app run? All other installed apps run on the iPad mini without any problems using iOS 12, including Pinterest, YouTube and Safari. Does the Piwigo app necessarily require iOS 17 to run? Does the app access special iOS requirements that are no longer available with iOS 12? Must I buy every few years a new iPad? Sustainability?

To come back to John R's question: The Piwigo app has not been working for a week now. Before that (i.e. about 2 weeks ago) it was still working. Version 3.1.3 was published one week before, version 3.1.2 two weeks from now. I suggest that either version 3.1.2 still worked or the version before. In the meantime I have updated the server to version 14.2.0. The other Piwigo apps on the 'newer' iOS versions still work without any problem. In the iPad mini of my wife Piwigo can accessed in the Safari browser without any problem. I think the Piwig app update to version 3.1.3 caused the described problem.

With reference to the comment by John R (and erAck):

The Apple App Store says as a requirement for the Piwigo APP:
"Compatibility
iPhone
Requires iOS 12.0 or later.
iPad
Requires iPadOS 12.0 or later."

The iPad mini runs iOS 12.

So, iOS 12 running should not be the problem. Or am I wrong?

iOS 12 is the minimum required version of the Piwigo app.

You are right. The version 3.1.3 of the iOS app crashes on iOS 12.
We are sorry for this issue which can only not be detected with a real device.

We are preparing a version 3.1.4 fixing the issue.

Thank you very much for listening to my problem. Thank you already for your efforts and the upcoming update of the app. The app is very popular with the users of my website, which is my whole family. And it's very big.
My wife is already looking forward to using the app on her iPad mini. It's more convenient than viewing the album in the browser.

The version 3.1.4 of the iOS app is now submitted to the App Store team ;-)
