Problem with logging in/out of the piwigo gallery

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

Hey. Hey,
I'm having a problem lately with logging in/out of the piwigo gallery. I don't know what happened, I didn't have these problems before. I don't really know what to do anymore....and it's annoying.

Problem:
When I want to log in, I click on the form at the top (I'm using the Bootstrap Darkroom theme), fill in my login details, click "Login"...and nothing.  The page sort of reloads, but I'm still not logged in (I don't see the control bar at the top, nor the user view as I should be logged in). I have to do this like 3 or 4 times, and in between reload the page with CTRL+SHIFT+R, and then I might log in sometime.

Similarly with logging out. I click logout and again nothing, I'm still logged in. When I finally log out after some effort, I click on an album (another page in the gallery)...and boom. I'm sort of logged in again.

I can't take it anymore, it's very annoying. Does anyone know what to do please?
Thank you

(PS: I use Chrome, I've tried resetting cookies and cache several times - didn't help)

Re: Problem with logging in/out of the piwigo gallery

it still doesn't seem to be working. It's like there's some problem somewhere with the way it's picking up that I'm logged in.

E.g. when I log in, it looks like I'm logged in, but when someone scrolls through the admin section, it "kicks me out" that I'm not logged in.
I've also noticed that uploading to albums doesn't work well. Sometimes the photos will upload to a different album than I choose...I don't understand...

A different browser doesn't help. Server (Wedos webhosting) PHP is 8.1.14

Is it possible that a reinstallation would solve this problem? However, I don't know how to back up the gallery as it is quite large...

Re: Problem with logging in/out of the piwigo gallery

New installation of Piwigo.
1) Create a new folder and carry out the new installation there. (with new database)
2) old installation move the root/_data/i/upload folder to the new /_data/i/ folder
3) the same with the root/upload folder
4) the same with the /plugins folder
5) copy/overwrite the data from the old installation (/local/config/database.inc.php) in the new installation
6) finished
7) Install theme

It worked so well for me and everything works perfectly. It is the easiest and fastest solution.

Best regards
Olaf
