Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I need a little help/advice on how to proceed please...
Right now this is what happens:
If I use Piwigo's administration website to upload my images, they go into this physical directory:
/upload/...
--(dynamically-generated-directory-name)
If I use FTP to upload my images, they go into a different physical directory:
/galleries/...
--(album-name-as-directory-name)
I keep many of my albums private, meaning they are not publically visible. That is easily do-able using Piwigo :-)
My problem is that I have a "private" album in both locations now, and Piwigo shows two albums on its website, both called "private".
Is it possible to somehow merge those two albums?
I mean I would like to have only one top level "private" album, where all my restricted sub-albums go into?
Maybe there is a way to move/migrate the old "private" album into the new "private"? I do not know what should be the best practice. I could stop using the admin website to upload photos, and only use FTP from now on, but what do I do with the existing photo albums which show up in the "wrong" place.
Please advise me how to proceed.
Thanks
-Raj

Well, if it is not possible to do what I asking above....is it possible to migrate the old albums to the new location?

You could convert the physical album to a new virtual album and then assign the already existing virtual album's photos to the new virtual album as well, and then stop using / uploading to the physical album directory, but only to the virtual album. This [extension by abravorus] VirtualizeAlbumById could convert one physical album to virtual (I didn't try).
