Hi,

Can you tell me what the directory's and files permissions should be on my Linux Gentoo system,
i am getting this error when i try a install a plugin.

* An error occured during extraction (path_creation_fail).
* Please check "plugins" folder and sub-folders permissions (CHMOD).

I suppose you're trying to install a plugin.

Code:

chmod a+w plugins

The web server user (www-data on Debian/Ubuntu, I don't know the default value for Gentoo) must be able to write in this directory.

No.
- ./plugins are needed for autoupdate and config files
- maybe ./galleries if you want to use pLoader or embedded thumbnail generation.

The problem occurs only when you want to create directories.

pLoader uses the directory "upload" not "galleries".

Ok Thanks for the reply's.

Now how do I and my users upload images to piwigo. Have i got to enable somthing in the setting has i cannot see anythink,

I am a user of SMF with built in gallery but i was searching the net and came across this piwigo, and also fluxbb.
And decided to give it ago.
