Creating full functional website?

Hello all, i have a Question.

I ambusy creating a Partypicture website, and i want to use
the piwig PhotoAlbum. I allready installed piwigo and customised
a bit, but here is the thing...

I want to create a full functional website (design) with a Top menu, and
a left menu, and all the links that i want with information. (target  _self)
but,, i don't know what i have to do to make such a Theme/template.

I Can create a website using xhtml, php and css, and then i want to add
the gallery itself in my website homepage, and also a registration button and
login form under the lef menu.

So what's the best way i can do, and wich files do i need??

Many Many Thanx and Regards,
Bart

Wait a little the release 2.1 comes in a few days.

We don't support in any way release candidate but you can of course play with it to help you managing the 2.1 release.

What do you mean exactly ? Do we must understand that piwigo is just a part of the website ? If it's the case you can of course od it. Look at piwigo.org, there's a gallery
(http://piwigo.org/demo), a wiki, a forum of course, a bug tracker,... You make a design and you can apply it to piwigo.

That page can (for example) be the register page of piwigo.

To be simple, I think you "just" have to do a theme.

Re: Creating full functional website?

Yes, i know and understand that there's no support for a RC, but i guess the RC will use the same way like the stable release will do.

What i mean exactly is to create and design a website with photoshop/dreamweaver, and then import the gallry into my websites homepage, with my own made design and top and left menu and footer. I was trying to understand the Theme structure and were i can import something, but i didn't find it.

I'm also not so familiar with tpl files.

The website  wanna make is about pictures from partys, but i need my own menu and stuff, i can create css files for that.
I hope someone can help me.
Thanx.

Yes. And the modifications between RC3 and final releases are minor ones.

I think the best way if you are not so familar with template files is to start with a theme which is similar to yours in terms of architecture. The new theme architecture make life a beginners simplier. You just have to put in your directory theme only the files that you modifiy from the theme you based your theme. If you just want to modify the picture page, just put the picture.tpl file in a theme directory and it's finish. I simplify but it's almost that !

Re: Creating full functional website?

I only see a specific top menu to add. Is that right?
If it is, so it is really simple to do.

Configuration > General > Main (sheet)
Page banner:   HTML and Javascript are accepted there, do what you want for example append a mapped image menu.

Piwigo.com: Start and run your own photo gallery. Signup and get 30 days to try for free, no commitment.

Re: Creating full functional website?

Yeah, but i don't even know how i can activate the left menu and login form.

And Advanced MenuManager doesn't work how it supposed to work.
I was just wondering if i can create a full layout in dreamweaver and then
implement the Gallery itself, and the login form, and the registration option...

The left menu and login form are standard, provided they are not hidden by the theme you've activated.

Could you be a bit more precise: what doesn't work? and how did you get that result?

These are not independant modules you can use or add seperately.

Re: Creating full functional website?

They are hidden at my site. Look to the screenshot.

With AMM, i get errors on my gallery homepage when i activate the plugin.
And i can not insert links and stuff...
