I installed Piwigo NG on a mediaplayer for TV that uses Android TV 9 (I guess it's Android TV)

So far, viewing photos, navigating through albums works fine, except one thing: I cannot "swipe" to the next / previous pic in an album.
I tried the original remote, an alternate remote and external keyboard / mouse without success. Neither left/right buttons nor swiping with left mouse button pressed to the left or right work.

The latter works well in the old Piwigo App.

Any help appreciated
