Hello,
I have a 2 year old gallery with about 12000 images that has been dormant since long time and has also been moved to a different host and domain.
I would like to refresh everything - clear the old cache and regenerate all thumbs.
What are latest best practices for doing this?
I read a lot of old posts here and would like to get some more up to date insights.
- Which option to choose for clearing existing cache from Tools > Maintenance > Actions?
- Possible to regenerate all 12000 images in a single run under Photos > Batch Manager? Or is there a risk of the (shared) server to hang?
- Should I first delete existing thumbs from /_data/i ?
- I have about 1000 more images to add by FTP. Will new thumbs be created automatically or should I run the batch again for them afterwards?
Any other related recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Should suffice if under Admin -> Tools -> Maintenance, Purge Cache, you Purge compiled templates and Delete multiple size images All.
Creating thumbs and multiple sizes is not necessary, it's done on the fly upon first visit.
