Is My Session Timing Out?

Hello,

I am uploading a large number (5,000+) images.  After about 2300, which takes hours, I start getting "Access denied" errors.  Is my session timing out?  If so, how may I set the timeout to never time out?  Thanks.

Separate question:  If I scp all the images directly to the server can I then have Piwigo ingest them from a local directory?  I feel like that would go a lot faster.  Been trying to upload these all day.

Thanks.

Re: Is My Session Timing Out?

Thanks for the info but I am not quite following.  I have scp'd a bunch of .jpgs into /var/www/html/upload.  How can I import them into an existing gallery?  Please explain like I'm 2 years old.  I'm strong on Linux, it's the UI I'm trying to learn.

Re: Is My Session Timing Out?

The upload/ folder is only used when uploading through the web form for virtual albums. Move what you scp'd (and only that) from upload/ to galleries/ and then run the ftp sync step. This will create physical folders from the directory structure under galleries/. To physically move photos around in those physical albums you can use [extension by windracer] Physical Photo Move. To convert physical albums to virtual albums where you can freely associate images to different albums use [extension by plg] Virtualize.

Re: Is My Session Timing Out?

Thanks again for the reply.  I'm still not quite getting it,

1) I moved all the .JPG files from upload/ to galleries/ (385 files)

2) I went to Tools/Synchronise:

o directories + files

checked  Synchronise metadata (filesize, width, height, date_creation, latitude, longitude)

checked perform a simulation only (nothing will be changed in the database)

Pressed the Synchronise button and get the following result:

[Simulation] Search for new images in the directories

0 albums added to the database
0 photos added to the database
0 albums deleted in the database
0 photos deleted from the database
0 photos updated in the database
    0 errors during synchronisation

All the files have world read permission:

ls -l

...

-rw-rw-r-- 1 xxx xxx  2253867 Jun 15 21:38 6A5A9798.JPG
root@xxx:/var/www/html/galleries#

I also enabled the Physical Photo Move plugin but I haven;t gotten to the step to try to use it.

---

All I am trying to do here is import these 385 files into an existing gallery.  I am under a bit of pressure to get these up online so anyway you can get me going will be much appreciated!

Re: Is My Session Timing Out?

Apparently you have all files directly in galleries/, create a directory thereunder and move the files into it, so an album can actually be created. Photos are added only for such subdirectories, not in the galleries/ directory itself.

Re: Is My Session Timing Out?

Thanks for the help.  I got the images to ingest into an album called test.  When I go to the admin UI and try to drag them from the bottom of the list of albums to another position it won't budge.  It stays in the bottom position.  Is there another way to move into an existing album as a nested sub-album?
