bootstrap darkroom configuration description

Hello,

Is there a way to show the description of the albums on the albums page?
Right now it is showing only the album title and number of photos.

For example, this album does have a description. The description shows up on the top of the thumbnails page

But on the albums page, nothing shows up...

Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees :) - you can easily define this in the admin settings of the template. Here is a screenshot, I hope you find it despite the language barrier.

I had tried that option, but the description still does not show up.
Maybe something else needs to be enabled?

By the way, isn't that setting valid for a category page? Assuming that means I could categorize the photos (or albums) as e portraits, landscape, animals, plants. If yes, I do not have a category page :-( I do not have a need for that.

Did you even add a description for the 2023 folder in the album manager?

yes that is correct. I do have descriptions of the albums inside 2023 (but not for 2023 itself, I could write something for 2023, but it is self explanatory that photos taken in 2023 are here)

On page where the albums are shown, I am expecting the description of every album to appear, along with its title.

Description of this album is " OUTREACH AT TJ'S TECHSTRAVAGANZA". It appears at the top of the page if I click on the album and the thumbnails inside that album are shown.

But at this page, it is not showing up

I don't think I fully understand you. Maybe you could visualize it with screenshots, then I would look again.

Tag #1 is what Piwigo is supposed to show- Album description next to the album's thumbnail
Tag #2 This is what my Piwigo is already showing - Album's description above the images shown as thumbnails (after we click on the album)

I SOLVED MY PROBLEM!
YAHOO!

So the descriptions were turned off because of my plugin - GDThumb.
The last setting in the configuration "metadata display mode" controls the display of descriptions.
I set it to Merged with Description to get what I want

Now I have descriptions for my albums! (screenshot below)
Yay!

Great that you were able to solve it, I just wanted to get an overview :). Although I have to say that it's good that you could solve it yourself because finding the cause within plugins is a bit more complex, especially since I don't use GDThumb myself.
