access rights

Hi again.

I wish to force users to log in, therefore I remove the categories by making them private.
I then grant access to the categories for a usergroup and admin.

Then I log out, and sign back in as someone from the usergroup.
I still cant see the category that I made private. Then I sign in to the admin account,
but still no category is displayed. What am I doing wrong?

Re: access rights

Hi Birtles,

Did you grant access to the admin also? (the admin is not outside the permission system)
Are your categories empty?

Re: access rights

Yes. I granted access to all except guests.
This is a category with 5 subcategories together containing around 2000 images.

I check in the categories > properties menu, and the category 2010 is set to private.
I double check the rights and all is as it should be. users/usergroup/admin have rights.
Guests do not have rights. When I am logged out I can not see the category 2010,
but when I am logged in, I cant see it either..

Re: access rights

Ok about the category "2010" being private and you gave access right to it, but what about the subcategories?

"2010" subcategories are private (that's automatic, a child of a private category can't be public), so you have to grant access to subcategories also.

Re: access rights

The problem is that I can not see "2010" or any of the sub-categories even if I have sett user-rights to everyone.
